1 – Pick an adventure, and then live it!
If you’re thinking about traveling as a healthcare professional, you’ve come to the right place. Medical Staffing Solutions, LLC has assignments at healthcare facilities nearby or far away. We have a highly qualified team of professionals who are committed to finding you the best assignments in your specialty.
2 – Apply
Filling out an online application and skills checklist is quick and easy, and gives us the basic information we need to get started. Completing an application does not obligate you to travel, but it does open the door to many choices and rewarding opportunities.
3 – Talk to a recruiter
Once your application is accepted, a recruiter will contact you. We will work with you to find the assignments that meet your personal and professional goals.
4 – Discuss assignments
Depending on where you want to travel or the type of facility you want to work, we will discuss specific locations and facilities. Together we will discuss the advantages of an assignment, evaluate pay, review the facility’s requirements and pinpoint an assignment that’s the best fit for you. Most facilities will require travelers to have at least 18 months of recent experience working in an acute-care setting.
5 – Telephone interview with a facility
Usually the department manager or director will conduct the interview. This also provides you an opportunity to get a feel for your potential new work environment. Your recruiter will help you prepare by giving you tips and guidance for the interview.
6 – Accept the assignment
If the facility accepts you for the assignment, Medical Staffing Solutions, LLC will help with your credentialing requirements and licensing. Free, quality housing will be arranged by our team, including furniture and utility setup. You will also receive information on enrollment in our benefits programs.

How Traveling Works

Today, a qualified healthcare professional can enjoy a career as a traveler and choose assignments at medical facilities nationwide any time of the year.
For your information:
Most travel assignments are 8 – 13 weeks in duration and can often be extended. We will work with you on the duration of your assignment to meet your needs.
- MSS will pay for either mileage OR airfare for trips to and from your assignment.
- While on assignment, you will receive free, quality housing close to your workplace. If you provide your own accommodations, we’ll give you a housing subsidy.
- You will be paid by Medical Staffing Solutions, LLC while on assignment. We pay weekly by direct deposit or by mail.
- We offer many outstanding benefits and incentives. Some facilities even offer a completion bonus at the end of an assignment.
- You never have to sign any long-term contracts with us or pay any fees for our services. Your commitment to Medical Staffing Solutions, LLC only extends for the length of the assignment you agree to take.
- When your assignment ends, often times you have the option to extend at that facility or apply for a permanent position at the facility. You also have the option to travel to another assignment or return home. You decide.
- Most hospitals prefer that travel nurses have at least 18 months of experience working in an acute-care setting.
